GRAVITAS VENTURES SIGNS LICENSING DEAL WITH RIGEL ENTERTAINMENT FOR MAX HAVOC ACTION FILM FRANCHISE

Comprehensive new media rights deal covers cable video on demand (VOD), satellite pay per view (PPV), internet protocol television (IPTV), and electronic sell through (EST).

LOS ANGELES- May 14, 2007 Gravitas Ventures, a world class new media distributor, formalized a relationship with Rigel Entertainment by signing a multi-title licensing agreement. Under the deal, the action packed martial arts films Max Havoc Curse of the Dragon and Max Havoc Ring of Fire will have the opportunity to reach over 100 million households and hotel rooms in North America and an even larger worldwide audience.

Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon, featuring an all star cast of David Carradine, Richard Roundtree and Carmen Electra, follows ex-kickboxing champion turned sports photographer Max Havoc (Mickey Hardt). In this first film, Max finds himself in Guam on a publicity photo shoot. Max's helpful ways land him in the lives of the vacationing sisters Jane and Christy Goody (Joanna Krupa, Tawney Sablan). The girls have acquired a rare jade dragon, which belongs to the ruthless Japanese Yakuza who will stop at nothing to get it back. It's up to Max to stop the Yakuza, save the sisters, avenge the death of good friend and restore order to the peaceful island.

In addition to the Max Havoc franchise, Rigel Entertainment has amassed an impressive slate of primetime hour series, mini-series, documentaries, and movies-of-the-week. From the action and adventure of such hit television franchises as RoboCop: The Series, Pacific Blue and Universal Soldier to the distinctive drama of The Mary Higgins Clark Collection, Rigel Entertainment’s extensive library combines world-renowned franchises, international stars and the most celebrated creative talent in television.

Gravitas Ventures, through its licensing arrangement with Warner Digital Distribution successfully sells to dozens of clients in the video on demand (VOD), pay per view (PPV), internet protocol television (IPTV), and electronic sell through (EST) marketplace. Under this agreement Rigel programs will be available to industry leaders such as iNDEMAND, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Cable, Cablevision, TVN, AT&T, Verizon, Direct TV, Dish Network, On Command, Lodge Net, Apple i-Tunes, Microsoft X-Box, Amazon Unbox, CinemaNow, Movielink and many more.

Nolan Gallagher Founder and C.E.O. of Gravitas Ventures had this to add “John Laing and Rigel Entertainment have a well known track record of producing quality films and The Max Havoc franchise is perfectly suited to younger VOD audiences craving non stop action. I grew up watching reluctant heroes Jean Claude Van Damme in Bloodsport and Steven Seagal in Under Siege, so seeing Max Havoc place down the camera and dispose of the bad guys makes perfect sense.”
